.NAME Domain Names

Set up in 2001, the .NAME universal domain extension is the single TLD intended for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to purchase john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired 3rd-level domain names remained running.

Through our company, you can acquire your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no special stipulations on who can register a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
